It's
not LeMans or the 24 Hours of Daytona, but the "24
Hour Longest Night" is the first and only SCCA 24
hour amateur endurance race in the United States. The
Florida Region was proud to present the 6th "24 Hour
Longest Night" on December 28th through the 30th,
2001 at Moroso Motorsports Park in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The
green flag dropped at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December
29th and the overall and class winners were declared winners
24 grueling hours later with the awards ceremony at 1:15
p.m. on the 30th of December. Congratulations to all the
teams, you were all WINNERS!
Professional
drivers from Grand Am Cup and World Challenge, SCCA
National drivers, SCCA Valvoline Runoff podium finishers,
former SCCA National Champions, current SCCA National
Champions and others from as far as California, New
Hampshire, Colorado and Texas will travel to the Sand
n Shoes
region with hopes of claiming the title of the Winner
of the 24 Hour Longest Night! |

It
is the ultimate challenge to man and machine, testing
the ability of the drivers and crew to maintain their
skill and patience and testing the racing machines' themselves
in this twice-around-the-clock classic.

Germany's
finest by Porsche, Mercedes, and BMW, challenged by American
muscle from Ford and Dodge, battled by Japanese pocket-rockets
from Toyota, Honda and Mazda, all in the sights of the
purpose-built Spec Racer Fords, will compete for the crown.
